Back to Basics: Troubleshooting Your Irrigation System’s Electronics

This interactive hands-on workshop will teach you the fundamentals of troubleshooting an irrigation system.
We will use multimeters to identify electrical problems with controllers, solenoids, common wires, and valve control wires. StationMaster® testers will be covered as well
Learning Objectives:
- Have a better understanding of the use of multimeter and electronic units
- Reduce time wasted by utilizing techniques to better determine if and what is causing the electrical fault
- Understand how wiring and electrical component differ and operate
- Be more efficient at maintaining the irrigation system with less upper-level supervision
Speaker Bio:
Brad Jakubowski, M.S., CIT (Penn State University) has been involved with the Green Industry for over 30 years, working irrigation troubleshooting and installation for residential, commercial, golf and sport field areas. Currently, he is teaching multiple online and traditional irrigation management courses in the 2- and 4-year Penn State degree programs. Previously, he directed the two-year Turfgrass Management Program for the University of Nebraska. He especially enjoys connecting with the industry through outreach education programs.
